
Girls Golf Wins Regionals
The Wellington girls golf team entered their regional tournament with championship dreams - and they made them a reality. There were 40 golfers and seven teams in the tournament field.

The Lady Crusader girls tennis team finished third in the 4A Regional tournament hosted by Independence High School. The Lady Dukes scored 10 points, finishing behind Independence, the Regional Champions with 14 points, and Winfield, the second place team, with 13 points.
The Wellington Cross Country team competed in the Cheney Invitational held on October 9, 2025, at Cheney State Park. Luke Wylie was the top WHS finisher out of 62 competitors in the men’s 5k with an impressive second place finish and a new PR time of 17:04.
When the Wellington Heat take the field this June, they’ll do so under new leadership. The team has announced Kam Parker as its new head coach for the upcoming season.
The Wellington football squad got their fourth straight win last week over the Winfield Vikings. Senior Jalik Armstrong led the way with four rushing touchdowns as the Dukes put up 46 points in the contest.
The Crusader football team kept Augusta at arm’s length all night on Homecoming night at newly christened John Gifford field at Sellers Park. But, a furious comeback from the Orioles almost ruined the celebration for the Crusaders.

The Wellington Crusaders girls golf team made history on Monday, capturing the championship at the Andale Invitational and setting a new school team record in the process. The Crusaders edged out 5A power Andover and topped perennial contender McPherson in a competitive field.
The Wellington Lady Crusader volleyball team stayed on a roll last week, winning four of six matches. Since starting the season 4-4, they are 11-2 in their last 13 matches.
